From Sibly, Iowa t he road wound to Pipestone, Minnesota, another place I had passed by, not having time to visit.

There I encountered  Travis Erickson, a pipestone carver who asked I use his name in any internet postings of vacation pictures. His son gets a kick on Googling "vacation pictures"  and finding his fathers picture or name.

So son of Travis Erickson here is your dad's name and picture. His card reads "Pipemaker: Travis Erickson Custom Orders, Raw Stone" dullfiles@hotmaoil.com

Hope your son finds this Travis.

Tall grass prairie

"The Oracle" overlooking the valley - Can you find him?       The "pipestone" is the 6 inch band of red at the base of the wall. All the soil and quartzite above must be quarried out to get to it.

Didn't have to dodge moose, dear, bear or buffalo this trip or even prairie fires for that matter - only bunnies
